General Diren (ディレン将) is a character in The Legend of Heroes IV: A Tear of Vermillion.

Diren is the commander of the King's Army. Twenty years ago, he was responsible for ending the country's First Revolutionary War.
He risks his own life to protect the Royal Family and the villagers, but especially with Muse. He always makes sure that anyone who approaches her would not bring harm to her.
The Legend of Heroes IV: A Tear of Vermillion[]
He is first seen at Tibri Highway. At this time, the Syamseal Gang invaded Tibri and took the villagers hostage. The General recognizes Muse and commands her to go back, but she refuses. He eventually agrees to work with her and the rest to rescue the Villagers. He went into the village to distract the enemy, while Avin sneaks in to set the villagers free.
