Thomas (トーマス), also known as Captain R. Thomas (キャプテン・R・トーマス), is a character appearing in each of the three Gagharv games.

Profile

Thomas is a skilled sailor. He is also proficient in swordmanship, black magic and a master of diguise.

The Legend of Heroes IV: A Tear of Vermillion

In , Thomas is entrusted with the Planetos (プラネトス号), the fastest ship in El Phildin, under tutelage of Gawain. He sends messages using his carrier pidgeon, Poppo (ポッポ).

The Legend of Heroes V: Cagesong of the Ocean

Thomas is considered a hero who crossed the seas aboard his ship, Planetos II (プラトネスII世号).

The Legend of Heroes III: White Witch

Later in life, Thomas settles down in Thuair, Menarth, under the name of Roule (ルーレ). By this point, his adventures as captain have been chronicled in the book series "Captain Thomas," of which Jurio is a avid fan. Roule wields Kand magic and is an old friend of Dice's president, Baron.

He frequently visits the casino in Dice, Chanom, but always returns home with pockets empty. This upsets his grandson Red, but Roule shows no remorse. When Jurio and Chris walked in on one of their arguments, they were forced to tag along to Dice.

• Apart from Michel de Lap Haven, Thomas is the only character appearing in all three games of the Gagharv trilogy.
• The reward for the runner-up in The Legend of Heroes III: White Witch, Chapter 3: "Shadows on Three-city Bridge"'s cooking contest is the "Captain R. Thomas Commemorative Medal". This is the only time Captain Thomas is referrd to as R. Thomas, suggesting his later pseudonym Roule might actually be his first name.
